      Goodbye Forum

Life isn't perfect for me. Life isn't perfect for anyone. I'm getting by. I have issues, but I'm solving them. I'm getting through it all. I'm ready to leave this forum. I've stayed on it for many years. I always come back. I always retreat to the safety of the forum to vent and rant, to wallow in self-pity. I've been sober for 17 days. I have no illusions, this fight isn't over. My depression hasn't gone away. My bi-polar hasn't gone away. My Dad hasn't gotten any better. My family isn't any more better off. But I'm not the 13 year old kid I was when I joined this forum. I'm 16 years old. I'm a Junior in high school. I'm moving out in less than two years. I can't rely on other people to carry my burden, my responsibility. There isn't a dark cloud over my head. There is no such thing as fate or destiny. There's always a way through, I just need to strain my eyes to see it. I always look for the negative in things, and because of that I lose sight of all the good things in life. I have to face my demons, I can't run away anymore.

I wish you all the best. I thank the admins, the mods, all the people that made this forum my home for many years. Its time for me to move on with my life.

      Re: Goodbye Forum

Checking in. I'm doing okay, been busy lately with school and Cross Country. Had a school shooting which really scared me. I was literally 2 rooms down from the shooter. No one was hurt, but to walk past the shooter minutes before he held a room hostage shook me up. School itself has been hard. A week ago I had a nervous breakdown in the middle of class. I just couldn't function. I went home for the day, came back the next day a little bit better. Overall I'm doing alright, life hasn't been easy lately but I'm holding on.

Sorry to hear you are having some issues, but great to hear you are able to deal with them and hold your own despite everything. How frightening the school shooting must have been. Glad you are okay.
