Good thrillers are (all by stephen king):
The Shining
Geralds Game
Misery
I'm reading a suspense/mystery/detective book called The Other Side Of silence by Bill Pronzini (I think that's his last name). It's pretty good, and it's the first book that I've read by this author.
You could read L.A. Confidential, Lady in the lake, Red Harvest, or No country for old men.
I dub thee Unforgiven
I'm just a girl... living in captivity
I remembered some more!
Mystic River, Gone Baby Gone, and Shuuter Island by Dennis Lehane are all really good.

these are Crime Thrillers but are very good, J.A. Kerleys The Hundredth Man, The Death Collectors and Little Girls Lost are all good works by him. The Kathy Reich's I am also a fan of but for True Crime Books I recommend Patrica Cornwells Jack the Ripper: Case Closed or Blood and Granite, which is a truecrime collection from Aberdeen, Scotland
True crime? I read "conversations with a killer", which is a book of death row interviews with Ted Bundy(a serial killer who was active in the 70's), and its very creepy indeed.
True crime - ive just started reading midnight in the garden of good and evil. totally engrossed in it.
fiction - any agatha christie novel.
