and now she has left...power outages and flooding, fires and trees down...but all and all we are very fortunate as there were a few (although too many) deaths...New York City always bounces back...it will take a few days for things to be back on track, but buses will be running later today or tomorrow and roads that are passable will be open..Scary but considering what could have happened, very lucky!

Since my home has all services, people will be staying here for a few days, so from devastation, some nice things happen...cooking, cleaning and getting things ready for the 'invasion' of the Manhattan residents, as soon as the Brooklyn Bridge opens...we will make it fun, especially since I have internet, so the kids will have things to do...friends bringing some pets so Marley will have playmates as well

Sandy was here too, and she left a mess (although not nearly as big a mess as in other places). The rain was just unreal... it was so loud at several points that it was almost impossible to hear anything going on inside. I made it through okay, but my cousins didn't fare so well... flooding and no power. They'll be here for a few days while their place is cleaned up.
