It is very delicious and easy to make. Saute the onion, boil or steam the veg, mix them together and smash up a bit (don't completely mash), top with cheese and pop in the oven for about 35 minutes. It's a good way of using leftovers, it's a bit like bubble and squeak I guess, but baked.

I wonder if you started eating brekkie would that help you lose the pounds faster? They always say it kick starts the metabolism, maybe even just try it for a couple of weeks?

You're doing great though, i love your half way review, you're doing so well, i'm proud of you.

I don't like eating in the morning because I don't often feel hungry and eating early makes me feel nauseous. Maybe it's worth trying though.

Day 49

I had an OK day. I haven't eaten much but I haven't exercised either. I fell over and thought I'd broken my arm so spent a few hours sat in the hospital waiting room so I've only walked about 2000 steps. Luckily my arm's not broken, just badly strained.

Breakfast: just a glass of water

Lunch: nothing, just a can of coke because I was in the hospital (139 kcals)

Afternoon: a chocolate cookie (97 kcals)

Dinner: a jacket potato with baked beans, a little butter, low fat cheese, avocado and salad (about 660 kcals) and a large glass of fruit juice (about 130 kcals)

Maybe it is worth a try hun, just to see if there is any difference.

Just curious, how do you count up the calories for all of your meals? Could you be underestimating them?

...Just trying to figure out how you're being so good but the scales aren't showing it. It could be an increase in muscle too.

Here for you anytime x

I think I'm pretty accurate in calorie counting. For most things I take the info off the product packaging but for other stuff I use an app. I don't weigh stuff but I check in the app what a medium size potato is on average or a large egg etc.

I think it's just due to not exercising enough. I love walking, as you know, but it probably doesn't get my heart racing enough to burn lots of calories. My basal metabolic rate is only about 1200 calories and even on an active day when I've done quite a bit of walking I probably only burn about 1800 calories. So, even if I'm only eating about 1200-1300 calories a day, I'm probably not going to lose more than a pound a week, if that (they say that you need a deficit of about 3500 calories to lose a pound). I need to exercise more really I think.

Day 54

I haven't had a great day again today. The food I've eaten has been fairly healthy, but I've had too many calories. I love avocados and they're super good for you but, boy do they have a lot of calories. Luckily I've done lots of walking again (over 15000 steps) and I've done some more stomach toning exercises so hopefully I haven't done too much damage.

Breakfast: a glass of water, a large skinny cappuccino and a protein bar (about 350 kcals)

Lunch: salad of lettuce, cucumber, mixed beans, a spoonful of grated cheese and dressing (about 350 kcals) with a bottle of mango ice tea (48 kcals)

Afternoon: a medium skinny cappuccino (about 80 kcals)

Dinner: 2 chicken, bacon and avocado sandwiches with some reduced fat coleslaw followed by some grapes (about 1200 kcals) with a bottle of water

Day 56

Oh dear I've had another bad day. I was feeling bored and miserable so opened a large packet of crisps and ate about 3/4 of the pack with a pot of tzatziki. I haven't done too well on the exercise front either. I went out for a 40 minute walk earlier but have only done about 7500 steps in total.

On the plus side, I'm pleased with how I've cut down on alcohol and upped my fruit intake over the last few weeks :)

Breakfast: 2 pancakes with butter and a bottle of lemon and elderflower water (about 260 kcals)

Mid-morning: a black coffee (0 kcals)

Lunch: crisps with tzatziki (about 460 kcals)

Afternoon: a hot chocolate (about 260 kcals)

Dinner: chicken and mushroom risotto, with a slice of bread and butter, followed by some watermelon (about 760 kcals) with a bottle of water

Evening: more crisps with tzatziki (about 290 kcals)

Thanks @tlarson I'm trying to do more exercise, but I don't really enjoy it. I like walking, but that's about it. I also enjoy dance classes but I can't afford them right now :(
