A Cruel Moment of Clarity: Written by... I dunno... something...

I’m looking in the mirror,
And I see something,
It looks like me,
Or how I used to be.
But now,
Behind this human like face,
Is a blank canvas.
No virtue,
No vice,
No passion,
Or disgust.
A vacant being,
Once whole and unique,
Now cleansed by surrender,
And words formed by little minds.
Now, this being,
This shell,
Uniform with the despondent mass.
Adding nothing new,
Under the now colorless sun.
So how do I know,
That I’m not wasting air?
