when i was in england last year i found this book:
'Healing the hurt within' from Jan Sutton, the 3rd edition
it's a great book and very informative, it's not discriminating us who SI/SH, and helps understand SI/SH. it's good for those who SI/SH and for those who have contact with people who do 'it'. plus the price is quite low for what you get.
    contents are for example:
    exploring SI and SH
    looking beyond the myths
childhood trauma, negative core beliefs, perfectionism and SI
    dissociation and SI
    heal thyself
guidance for family, friends and teens cinsidering SI

it's not a replacement for a therapy though
