    “A Strange Hollowness”

Looking within, I only see a strange hollowness
    Emotions washed away
    With spiritual decay

Every inch of that glistening void smells pungent
    Acrid with nothingness
I look up into that bleak, soulless self-sky
    Wondering why
    I do not die

Just to simply fade away, like a belated harbinger of death
Would be an exalted gift from an unknown benefactor

I lie in bed, wondering what will become of me
Nothing to sustain me but apathy
Hoping this will be my last breath
For it will result in a sigh of relief

You put it very well, your questions. I often have the same questions when I lie in bed unable to sleep, and wonder what is to become of me. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us.
