Abortion

I personally think its wrong, for the reasons that if your responsible enough to have sex then you should be willing to face the consiquences on those actions. I don't think its right to have an abortion because you can't handle it.

But in extreme situations i think its acceptable, such as rape, or the pregnancy indangers the mother or baby.

Very well said. I am so f*ing sick of all ***mod edit sarah***telling women what they can't do with their own bodies in order to "protect innocent life" or "save the unborn". :furious: They are NOT doing these unborn children any favors by forcing them to be born into a life of pure misery, which they most certainly will be otherwise they would not be considered for aborting in the first place.

Of course it's not about protecting innocent life anyway; It is all about using childbirth to control women and keep them in their place. It also sickens me that they now want to stop people from using birth control as well. This of course will only create more needless lives of pain and suffering. Believe me, there is nothing I hate more than those so called "pro-lifers". ****mod edit -sarah****. Nothing is more absolutely wrong and morally reprehensible than the "right to life" movement. If they all had the choice I'm sure almost all would choose not to be born; I certainly would have not been born if it was up to me.
that was... extreme. but I agree with you, just not in the harsh terms you put it.

A Woman has the Right to Choose. I don't Agree with late term abortions at all though.

The simple fact is, people will keep having sex. People will keep getting pregnant.

So, either you ban sex or you try to educate on safe sex.

But accidents will happen.

1/3 of the US population has at some time recent suffered "food insecurity"

So who will feed all these Mothers and Kids.

I think it depends on the woman and the circumstances.
Thought if you have sex willingly and fall pregnent i think you shouldnt have an abortion as you need to take the consiquences (like vikki said)
I personally, would never get an abortion, i couldnt do it and even if it was hurting the people around me, i would want to give this baby a chance at a great life =)

I did everything right. I was on birth control and only having sex with my boyfriend (now husband). I became pregnant (how? I honestly don't know). I never wanted to be pregnant, I never wanted a kid - I absolutely HATE children. I aborted, I never felt bad about it for a single day of my life not even right after i had it done because that is what I wanted.

My problem with the anti-abortionists is the influence they are having on people. I had to convince the 3 or 4 nurses I saw through the time of scheduling my abortion and blood tests and stuff that I actually wanted the abortion. One of them tried to convince me that my boyfriend was brainwashing me into having an abortion! wtf? He didn't care etheir way (though admitedly he hates kids as much as I do) but I mean come on now! It was very obvious that I didn't want a child and that I wanted to have the abortion and that I felt *no guilt whatsoever* about the process. Why did they have to constantly try to tell me that I wasn't thinking straight? If I had to do it again I would, and no amount of anti-abortion guilt trips would make me feel bad about what I did.

Kids are going to grow up learning "Abortion is bad and wrong and evil" if we keep stuffing it down their throats. Trying to convince them not to do it at all costs is inadvertedly influencing them not to have a choice at all. Pro-choice means give them a choice! Not give them a choice but make one choice seem way more appealing then the other. I wish people would truely let them make up their own minds.

(PS: I only use condoms now, I don't trust the pill. Apparently the pill is supposed to be more effective too but its been 7 years since and condoms have been working fine.)

Have you thought about using both? I mean staying on the pill and using condoms as well? That way if a condom did break or something you'd have the back-up protection.

It's true that loads of stuff can compromise the pill's effectiveness (sickness, diarrhoea, not taking each pill at the same time of the day, certain antibiotics, and so on) but it really is more effective than condoms if you use it right and make sure you double up with condoms if you forget a pill or have a stomach upset or anything...

i think its ok.. its better than he dies than being raised in an awful enviroment..
but in my opinion-- as long as its before the 3rd week [i think this is the weak where the NS starts to work..)-- i'm sure it hurts like hell if someone starts to but your body in pieces -__-;; or burns you in saline solutions..
do it .. when he/she's not feeling anything..

Why was there no mention of adoption here? Do people not think of giving up an unplanned pregancy--baby to live a good life? Instead of rather a death that may haunt you for your whole life. I guess that means I am anti--except for life danger, illness or rape.

2 of my friends had abortions when they were younger. We never speak of it, but they must have thoughts at times. If I could, I would gladly give a baby to a couple that had none.

This may be an unpopular stand. I did think of abortion when pregant with my son. The lab test said he would have disabilities. WRONG. It is an individual decision.

My father told me that my mother considered having me aborted. If only she hadn't changed her mind, I wouldn't be alive suffering. Hence, this is one of the main reasons that I am pro-choice, just that I'd hope that if a woman has the instinct that she cannot properly take care of the child/children, that she make the best choice, whatever that may be. Unfortunately, my mother did not. Such a shame.

I'm against abortion, I got pregnant when I was 18 and have my first child at 19. And I never consider abortion as we where planning to get married anyways.

But you're killing a human being, it's not the baby's fault that you where not responsible enough, my SIL had an abortion and she stills regret it. I'll prefer to give the baby in adoption. You have to act with responsability, they're couples that are suffereing becuase you can't have children.
I think adoption is much bette, but that's my opinion

There are too many people in this world who need homes, yet too many people being born into this world. There needs to be more common sense by would-be parents when they have sex.

The majority of humans are too anal and self-absorbed to care about avoiding unwanted pregnancies. There is also the spin about the "miracle" of childbirth
and the "gift of life" that motivates these pathetic breeders to keep producing.

I'm ususally the first to decry Draconian social policies but I'm beginning to see
the appeal of forced sterilizations. There are SIX BILLION humans walking around on the face of the Earth and the planet isn't getting any bigger.

Proposed bumper sticker slogan "Make Love, Not Babies"

PDW~
OH!! haha I agree with you.
Why is it soooo hard for people to learn about birth control and be smart about life...especially if you cannot afford or mentally you are unable to care/raise a child. I mean, I see a mother getting food stamps that have three small kids, and pregnant with their 4th. WHY???

It is similar to the idea of a girl wanting, wanting, wishing, waiting for her wedding :marriage:...yet, what about the MARRIAGE, life 365 days a year, in-laws,etc.

Peole like to have sex for the emotional or physical feelings....but are not prepared for the consequences of reproduction, relationships or lack of, etc.
IMHO that is nothing but not using your brain-DUMB, DUMB, DUMB!!

I do not wish to offend people!!![/COLOR]

I agree, ProzacDeathWish. This is the reason why I believe abortion should remain a legal option for women. People should not have children if they aren't ready to properly take care of these new people, but yet again, the pressures of religion in society still force fear in the minds of women, that should they abort, then these women are going to hell for the "murder" of their babies. The miracle for me would have been in my having been aborted by my mother so that I wouldn't have had the "gift of life" which unfortunately, in this world, the "gift of life" seems to keep on giving.

I am just curious what everyone's position on abortion is.....
Me personally I don't believe in it, but I think I am pro choice. I mean I would never agree for like a late term abortion those are just terrible, I'm talking early term (I don't really know what the terms are if you havn't noticed:tongue: )
I see abortion the same way that I see war. I believe it is a sin and a crime against the innocent. People may do both out of sometimes convenience and other times out of true desperation because they see no other way out. But in both cases it is wrong, in my view.
