my granfather used to hit my father and my aunt. He used to call her whore or whatever that came to his mind and he also hit her... a lot. My father sort of imitated his dad... he insulted my mum and also us and he used his hands sometimes too... once he even took a knife and theatened us and i still dont believe it it felt as if it was a movie. he doesnt live with us now, i cant hate him...
now i am worried that i treat like that my kids if i ever have them. are patterns that important in these cases that u cant avoid doing what ur parents did to u?

(i am not an english-speaker, sorry for the mistakes)

You do not have to follow what your parents did. You recognize that the abuse was wrong. You can break the cycle of abuse. It is a conscious choice you can make. You can start the new future :)
