Afraid I'll substitute another addiction

    Hi,
After 5 years on methdone to get out of my codeine addiction, I'm within a month of tapering off methadone. While I'm confident that I'll never use opiates again I'm worried that I'll find another addiction to take its place. I've been clean for 95% of those 5 years, but I've always enjoyed taking drugs, running the gamut from pot to opium. Now I occasionally smoke pot if its offered but never look for it and nothing else. I know I have the so-called addictive personality. Luckily I've been blessed with outrageous hangovers so drinking has never been a choice. I'm just concerned with feeling like I have to fill the hole after the meth is out of my system.

  2. That meth is a tough one, trust me, I know. I haven't touched it for over a year now. It was the best of time and it was the worst of times. I still dabble in other things but only in moderation. I am cursed with horrible hangovers myself. I still drink on occasion though.

Feel free to pm me if you want to talk sometime.
