Afterlife?

Howdy All,

I'm curious what people here think the afterlife is like. I personally think it's similar to sleeping without dreaming - you lose self-awareness and the so-called 'soul' or 'spirit' (which goes nowhere, it simply gets annihilated).

I think that is the opposite of sleeping.
I think life is like sleeping, and death is like waking up. It's like waking up from a strange dream. Or maybe a nightmare, as is the case for many of us. I have a feeling that when my life ends I am going to have a good laugh about it all.

I doubt there is such a thing as an afterlife - it doesn't seem very logical to me.
In my opinion, once your dead, your dead. Simple as that.
There's never been any real proof to suggest differently (well not that I know of).

I think that if there is life, it would make sense that there would be some afterlife. Because life is too complex, to just let our souls go like that. :)

I believe there probably is a after life too. Makes more sense then that life has no meaning, and is totally random and pointless. We will see. I'm not going to believe any thing on blind faith. There is so many nde's, by all types of people, even nonbelievers. Some can't be explained away as just dying dellusions/dmt release. People come back with new information, some times scientific. People know things they never knew before, how? I believe its the exact opposite, hallucinogenic drugs give you a spiritual experience some times, not actuall delusions. If you're scientifically brain dead lose all function then wake up two days later? How is that possible? dead for hours then regain consciousness?

Life doesn't make any sense with out meaning. There has to be some thing supernatural to give it meaning, reproduction can not be the point of physical life. It can't be some thing you create either, that is not meaning that is just a personal goal/reason.

If I meet god, or some higher entity, the first thing I will ask is: Why is there some thing rather than nothing?

WHat do I guess it will be like? I dunno. I think you are in the presence of god, Inside of gods energy, where you can recieve knowledge directly from god and spiritual entities. I've heard it is just a astral realm and can be just a cruel as this world, but I doubt it. we will see.

There has to be more to life than just this. We're all just a bunch of cells, then what the heck are thoughts? what's an inner voice? theres lots we cant see doesnt mean its not there. i dont think an afterlife has to make sense for there to be one. life itself doesnt make sense to me. as far as i know the world is nothing at all how i sense it to be. everything i see hear touch etc is just what my brain interprets it to be

I have sadly lost my faith in the afterlife, soul, prayer etc.. It would be great though for me to retain my innate qualities and experience a life after this one, without the torments and constraints.

I believe that we become disembodied spirits after we die. I don't buy the whole heaven/hell concept. I think if you die when you're supposed to die, then you can reincarnate as someone else, but if you die prematurely, then your spirit will roam around aimlessly.
