    There is something romantic about
    The sea at night,
Or so I have been told.

    Something powerful
    About the mountains,
    Towering and bold.

I have never seen it myself,
    Just rocks, and water,
    Stone and sky.

I am not inclined to understand,
    Why men fall before them
    And women cry.

Where is the transfixion I wonder,
On those who fly above the clouds
    Riding wings of steel.

I can feel no delight from the split atom,
Nor from twisted cities of iron towers,
    Or even the wheel.

Is it dispassion that has infected me,
Or disinterest for what the world offers?
Perhaps this is what is known as ambition.
    I wonder, I wonder.

Huge concept of human nature wrapped up in three short lines.
