  1. An E-Mail Poem to Friends

    (an open invitation..)

    Oh, foolish me!
    I start each day
    with hopes of correspondence
of such humour (as I send your way)
    in reciprocal preponderance…
It’s not that I’ve naught else to do,
    but find it ‘medication’
    to increase the source
of not only mine, but your very own elation!

I do concede, this has in fact
become but one more dire addiction
But having faced, and defeated death,
    there are far worse afflictions!

    I ‘manically’ keep sending them,
and I laugh though I’m alone,
yet if I make you smile too,
then well my seeds are sown.

Yet still I wish that you’d reply,
    and join in ‘mutual madness’
It’s ensued from all this gladness
of my once more being ‘alive’!
Poem, or joke, or other idiocy,
whether true, or from your memory,
    they’d all be happily received!
    I confess, I crave endorphins,
    but by no means selfishly…
So won’t you share, indulge us both,
and send what we all need…?
    (For I’d hate of find,
in my now glad state of mind,
    that in fact,
    the joke’s on me!)

I love to make people laugh too. With so many of my pals having moved away, though, I just don't get the same satisfaction through e-mailings.
