  1. Anger at God

    Help me
    Save me
    Carry me
    or take me away
    Say or do
    something!
    I’ve listened
    for nothing
    I’ve waited an age
    for a message,
    a sign
    I’ve yearned for the energy
    to claim what was mine
    Damn you
    for letting me down,
    and further down
    perpetually,
    for having made me believe
    once upon a time…
    Neither peace nor glory’s raised
    as you stand back
    and watch me die
    And all that I once sang and praised
    I can no longer find it now;
    It must have been a lie!
    For all I dared to love of life
    you’ve forced me now to hide
    and hang my head in shame
    though I know that I did nothing
    for which I was to blame.

    Not I, I did not let go ~
    but was given far more sorrow
    than any soul should rightly know…
    How could you make me suffer so

    Knowledge and love
    gleaned and earned;
    It was all for nothing
    all I learned
