It's still dark in my quiet room
    With the lights all abright
    I can't run too soon,
    Too far
I'm waiting to know who you are

Did they make you give up your words?
Or did you decide on your own accord?

    I want to know
    I want to know
    I'm curious as a cat

I miss things I never had...

It's dark in my quiet room
I'm lonely and I'm sad here
And I think it's kind of bad here
And I think I'm going mad here

    Without a pinch of reason
I would miss holding her tightly

Yet, I want to be done

    But I...
    It's far too early

    I have everyone I want
    But I have no one

The difference between a passing glance
    and a deliberate desire?
    A warmth and a fire?
    A gentleman and a liar?
Is that one of them we long for
And the other we just tolerate
    No matter how unfailingly
    How deeply
    We tire

    I have everyone I want
    But I have no one

I'm lonely and I'm sad here
And I want to be done

    But I...
    It's far too early

It's dark in my quiet room
    With the lights all abright
    I can't run too soon,
    Too far
I'm waiting to know who you are

    I hope you've not forgotten.
