    Through an age dank squalor
    and missing persons posters
I've wrote letters to you at insane hours
    just to get you closer
    The feeding lights only highlight
the houses that have unknowingly become obsolete
that crack the outlines of our paths
where I once dreamed we would meet
The faces of the old are buried
and I can't stand the heat
round here the sun is crucifying
anyone who wants to leave the street
There's youths in clothes of armour
    and windows breaking in pain
the whispers and mutterings are incessant
and are out to bloody your name again
down alleys where bodies lie down,
I wanted to lie down too
Lost in a haze of mundane days
of which there are but few
In parks lain idle with broken frames,
    sadly hanging in the night
I try to make some sense of this empty space
    that terrifies my sight
    A page with your address,
a dead man walks the road,
a river where men have drowned,
    years where lives erode
take off your wooden mask of youth
there's more to life than that
through the age of yesterdays happenings,
    we're painting our tomorrows black
    all words here are polemic
and the astronauts have upped and moved
in a place where bliss is sold,
you've have nothing left to lose
On the seabed, sometimes boats trudge by
sometimes I wish I was sailing too
flung about by the tears of strangers
whose hopes and dreams are let to spew
    the inhabitants are nothing
but a chink of light down a lost well
    in late charades of disgust
you drank some more and into the water you fell
I'm everything and nothing all at once
in a town where my name is known by thieves
    in surroundings where past glories
have dropped, died and blown away like the forgotten leaves
    and yet a radiant colour
    perhaps from this meaningless place
can change all perceptions of nothingness
and direct me through the lines of its old face
    am i just its enemy?
or am i just like you?
do you etch words of nothing,
in hope that you are missing too?

I need to know, it's late and I'm confused.
