  1. As Good As Dead
    (dedicated to "J")

    It’s as close as ‘damn’ is to swearing,
    the best that it can get
    Every avenue’s a cul-de-sac
    with no way to avoid regret
    It’s the call of fate I’m hearing
    after all is done and said
    Or is there something left to say
    although I feel as good as dead…
    Yeah, that killing feeling;
    dead would just be fine with me
    since there’s no place now that’s left to hide,
    nowhere out there, or inside,
    except within my name;
    the only thing that’s without blame
    So I write riddles ‘bout salvation
    and through the visions of my pain,
    I’ve tried to tell the others
    though it’s really all in vain
    After all, there’s only me, alone,
    and nothing’s gonna change…

  5. Thanks folks...

    (I hope "J" knows who they are...after all, they gave me the answer to their riddle. Not to mention that their own words - even though they seem futile - have inspired me like few others have)
