    A candlelit cadaver lays
    upon a broken bloody alter
a former life from distant days
a hope that did not much but falter
bound by rope that frays and twists
a soulless slab of flesh that reeks
of a past in endless tryst
    with the fear existence speaks
free the corpse with fires fury
    conflagration burns the binds
no body put before the jury
    or evidence that's left behind
except for ashes black and smoking
like the soul that used to dwell
in the body crushed and broken
a testament to hope that fell

HiI don't think this one came out as well as i'd like. Was an early morning, tired, upset and stressed kind of thing, kind of lost exactly what i was trying to do with it.
