Christmas time is a difficult time for many, let alone those of us struggling with our very sanity.
When all of those around us, are busy and seemingly happy with the coming together at this time, what of people like me and you?
This time around i have never felt so alone, never felt so much guilt and regret in all of my meagre life.
Have worked out my strategy to combat this, im going to think of all the people in this god forsaken world, who have nothing, no warmth, no food or most heartbreakingly, no love.
Im going to think about you, too.
We all have power, therefore warmth, computers, food. Many of us have friends and family, no matter how estranged, they are still there.
We can choose to hate those around us and be angry if we want, or we can decide to let that go and give to others regardless.
    I know the best option.
I tell myself that Christmas is just one day and thats all it really is, blown up by crass commercialism, the so called true meaning lost in the ignorance and greed of man, his ability to show selfishness time and time again.
Tell you something, i wish that people had the same smiles on their faces at this time, the same thoughts to their fellow man, all year round, not just because they are on holiday, or they get drunk or recieve a nice gift.
I will be here on xmas day a fair bit, come and find me, on the forums, or in chat, if you wish. Stay safe, please.

    Hi Pete,

I agree, this time of year is very difficult for so many of us dealing with our own personal demons. Seeing the joy and surpise in the eyes of the children and knowing that they have no idea what this day is really a celebration of. I often wonder why this country feels the need to subject the general public and we that carry the burdens that we do, knowing full well they are putting so many people on the edge of their internal abiss. Capitalism sure seems to be very selective in who they wish to have stay engaged and who they want to eliminate from the gameplay, if by no other method but ommission. As several of us know Omission does create dispare, amplifys depression and can cause people to do things that hurt so many around us. God I pray that this year everyone survives the season. I really do want to meet so many of the people whom frequent SF. Please stay safe this Christmas season I want to meet you sometime in the chat room. I would like to make some friends, The only friend I've ever had died 12 years ago and he never really knew who I am.

I also agree. The holidays just seem more painful when you are feeling so terrible. I try to also think of Christmas as just one day and then it will be over. But it's a shame that it has to be something that you just "endure". I will be around on Christmas Day also, I know I will need the support. Hope to see some of you around.

Now that it's nearly here I feel less stressed and anxious. The only talent I have is cooking and I'm looking forward to watching people tuck in.

We can choose to ignore the commercial aspect of Christmas and just celebrate the day with friends or family or our SF community. For Christians, Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, but for others, it's just a time to come together and give thanks.
