I wish I could go back in time
    To innocence and golden days
    And resurrect my happiness
And stare at life in awestruck gaze

Behold the wonders that were life
Before I learned what people do
Before the giggles turned to tears
    With promises of love untrue

Before the hurt, before the pain
When I could trust and not be used
When friendship meant much more to me
    Than being verbally abused

    When life’s enthusiastic spark
    Could unencumbered start to glow
    Instead, I haunt depression’s depths
And dream of love I’ll never know

I know it doesn’t make much sense
But still I wonder just the same
If I could live it all again
And somehow hope it all would change

    Very nice.
But would you consider changing 'would' to 'could' in the last line?

And maybe in the next to last line, change 'could' to 'would'?
