BP or MDI

Ok,Im Manic D.
For all the people who are Bi-Polar or Manic Depressive.

I like to be called MD instead of BP,to me the term "Bi-Polar" minimizes the sound of the illness. MD,instead,captures the seriousness of the illness. Rather than to paper over the reality of the horrible illness it is.
What do you guys think?
Does it matter at all to anyone else?

I guess it depends on the person to what they prefer to be called. I personally prefer to the MD diagnosis becuase I have BPD, PTSD, DID and MD just finishes off the list. Other wise if I use BP, people think I am repeating myself but I am so not. SOrry out of it right now
