I did a big salt ice burn about a week ago and my dog just caught it with her nail and just...eh.how do I say it...

Well she basically peeled all the skin off. Is this....well, I think you all know what I'm getting at. Help?

Right, how big is the area of the burn and where is it?

    Hope you're okay...

Sorry..I've kind of been.busy, you could say. It's about half way down my arm, starting from my wrist...
It looks to be getting a tad better now though.

If it covers a really large area or it looks like it could be infected then you really should show your GP. You could always lie about how you did it in a place like that.

If it doesn't, then you just need to keep it clean and covered.

Wash it out really well with lukewarm salt water, and (if you can handle the sting, because it really does sting...) apply diluted teatree oil. It's a fantastic antiseptic. Apply a sterile dressing that 'breathes' such as Melolin to keep dirt and fluff and germs out of it. Change the dressing regularly, and clean the burn again every time you do.

Good luck with it, let us know how you get on .
