Bush losing support of more and more churches

More and more American Christians taking a stand against war in Iraq

Thousands of Christians across the United States of America, including many who have initially been misled into supporting many of George Bushes policies such as the 'war on terror' in Iraq and Afghanistan, have turned out in the large protests that took part across the USA, Canada and other parts of the world against the continuing bloodshed in Iraq and Afghanistan on the 4th anniversary of the invasion of Iraq.

Christians from all different denominations, including some from Evangelical and Baptist churches many of whom initially supported the war, have organized and turned out for massive prayer vigils and protests. Some were arrested.

Jesus calls upon us to be peacemakers and to hunger and thirst for righteousness. Praise God for our brothers and sisters in America and across the world who are heeding the call.

President Bush.

"Mr. Bush, my Christian brother, we do need a surge in troops. We need a surge in the nonviolent army of the Lord," he said. "We need a surge in conscience and a surge in activism and a surge in truth-telling."

You know, I highly doubt George is Christian, even if he thinks he is.

Since when does State law trump Biblical law?

So it is OK for a Christian soldier to murder in War even though it says Do not Kill?

It's a double standard and the Church caved in.

You made some great points. One cannot be a Christian and follow man-made laws that allow killing and injustice.
I don't think 'the Church' has caved in- the Church is comprised of every man, woman and child who believes in Jesus and seeks to follow Him. It is universal. Some churches have 'caved in', many others have not. Most Catholic, Lutheran and Anglican churches opposed this war before the first bomb fell on Baghdad. Every Mennonite church did. Even some Evangelical and Baptist churches opposed this war right away. The 'televangelists' do not represent the Church, neither does the 'Christian right'- and now, thank God, even some of them are beginning to step in line with the Bible in opposing this war.
