So I have decided to self medicate tonight and get totally pissed and high as a kite. I need some really depressing music to get fucked up to.
I don’t care if it’s old or new, I usually listen to alt/rock but am getting over it. Would like to find some easier listening mellower music!
You know the sad, dispiriting, hopeless, I wana do myself right now shit...
I have a small playlist of that kind of music that I usually listen too, but am interested to know if anyone out there has any other good suggestions.
Or if you could list your top few depressing songs it would be great???

Here are some of the songs I have downloaded so far
    REM- everybody hurts
THE SMITHS- I know it’s over
TRAVIS- why does it always rain on me
    COLD PLAY- fix you
    LEONARD COHEN- everybody knows
    RADIO HEAD- high and dry

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

If anyone else is into the slow sad music try listning to a song called
God said no - by Dan Bern
I have never heard of him before but that song has got to be one of the best written songs ever. The song is about (time)
check it out, its fucking awsome.

Why is it when we feel bad we do things to make us feel worse? Why listen to sad, depressing music? It only makes you more sad and depressed.

your right, I dont have an answer.
for me listning to music like this helps me feel less alone in some wierd twisted way. the fact the artist feels the same way as i do at that current time or something like that, im just fucked i guess.

We all are I think. We all tend to look for and listen to the music that describes how we are feeling at the time. Maybe we should try to listen to music that can bring us to where we need to be instead. Or read, or whatever.

When I am sad... if I try to play some happy music... it is just like denying my feelings. When I am sad... I need that music to get those tears out! :)

    Rammstein - Spring (German)
Rammstein - Wo bist du (german)
    Sonata arctica - They Follow
Sonata arctica - The world's forgotten, the words forbidden

spring is by far the most depressing of the lot, though. spring means jump in german, and he's referring to a bridge.

Have you been assaulted by chirpy synthetic music that grates on your nerves when you feel like trashing something,or when you're feeling sad/depressed or mourning? It doesn't help me one bit.

Almost anything by Nick Drake. Particularly the Pink Moon album. Looking at other things you like I think this would go down well.
