Can't afford meds after being on them for several months

I've taken wellburtin 300mg the last 3 months and have responded quite well to the treatment. My dr ran out of samples and unfortunately the pharmacy wouldn't accept my medical insurance for prescription. They told me it would cost $100 out of pocket and that's just something I really can't afford at the moment. Wellburtin really does seem to have a strong effect on my mood and I'm not sure what will happen if I'm suddenly cut off. I would probably be unable to control my mood and all the suicidal thoughts I've been able to hold back would just suddenly flood over again. I'm not sure what I can do.

    1. Ask the pdoc office for referrals to other cost effective source.
    2. Ask the doctor or nurse for suggestions.
    3. Call the insurance providers to see if there are other places to get Rx.
    4. Call the local Mental Health Authority. My city helped the needs of people relocating due to hurricanes. Even if you work, just call and see.
There should be other local resources to help you, especially if you have insurance or Medicare.
