I am disgusted ....I specifically started a thread and explicitly asked that if someone had a problem with my avatar would they please PM me so that I could understand them and they me.

Does this adult come forward as invited by me? No they go and tell.

I have to ask myself is this person being vindictive? I mean why not talk about it? I have a sneaking suspicion as to her name as well...funny how watching the who's on line lets you see who is doing what.

I am pissed as this is my family and if you have an issue come talk to me ESPECIALLY after I offered to discuss it and displayed a willingness discuss your thoughts and feelings about it...I was fucking considerate as hell but was the same shown to me.....I mean is it not obvious that I care about this place? Is it not obvious that I am open to talking? I spelled it out!

I just feel really let down in many ways and frankly mad at this person for reporting the avatar rather than talking to me like an adult. Karma is a bitch and it acts fast so I know that she is gonna post sometime soon and see what it is like to be disrespected, ignored and be stifled in her expression.

For those of you that were able to take the avatar in the playful manner it was used I am glad you enjoyed a bit of a smile in this depressive life we deserve it but seems that being playful is not exactly welcomed by some members...I don't know what she was more jealous of? All of us having fun in the thread? or my behind but clearly she can not make a case that a female behind leads to suicide or is offensive.....

If you felt the need to start the thread, you must have known it might have made some members feel uncomfortable?

Reported posts are private for a reason, the person who reported it may have felt triggered by it and didn't want to be triggered further. It's not personal.

We all know how much you care about SF, but the rules are in place for a reason, personal pics are not allowed on SF, anywhere on the site.

sexual banter is not allowed on the site, please refer to the site rules

The picture was not of a bathing suit nor did it look like one. It was a very nearly naked members behind. Totally against the site guidelines.

Bambi, I had a problem with it but I didn't say anything to you or the admins to get it taken down. I know I can be old fashioned when it comes to these things but I also know not everybody feels the same way. I just didn't think it was appropriate.

Thank you for your support Sam, again you display maturity and sensibility like a true mature adult.
I made a wrong assumption in that the person who reported my thread had read my invitation to discuss it. They had not read it so I need to acknowledge the fact that they were not being disrespectful in any way...I see that and apologize for the rant I did based upon this assumption.
I also need to admit that in error and contrary to the SF rules I posted an avatar of myself although you would be hard pressed to pick me out of a police line up based upon that photo. Let me assure all members, staff and the person who reported my avatar my next avatar is not me.

I however remain stead fast in my opinion that my avatar is not triggering to a reasonable person and that in light of various other avatars on SF depicting the female body, whether in real life or in caricature, it was unfairly banned.

If someone finds a female behind in a thong at the beach and is triggered they need to find another beach as there are certain "offenses" that we as members of a free society must tolerate.

I wonder if a female behind in a mini skirt would be considered triggering to any here?

No one has to report your avatar for it to be removed, if a member of staff doesn't like your avatar then they can simply remove it as they see fit.

I wasn't particularly fond of your avatar but it didn't really bother me. :dunno:

To Music As stated I started the thread due to multiple messages in PM regarding the identity of the avatar.

Closing the thread was my suggestion for the record. I do not agree with the barring of light sexual banter but do respect SF rules and therefore stated that the thread should be closed/deleted.

As stated above I did not realize I had violated the rules and so understand that part of the explanation for the avatars removal.

For the record the female who reported the thread said to me that she found the avatar pornographic and not triggering.

Funny have you seen the topless women in Justme00 seems that only certain peoples idea of what is pornographic rules SF and determines what goes. How do you feel about that avatar unkelheit? Just curious as I am want to make certain that my next avatar is within the guidelines.

For the record a member of administration as well as several other members have contacted me to tell me they found the avatar neither offensive nor triggering...

I respectfully ask for a clarification of the rule regarding what is a triggering avatar and what is not.

I think we all would benefit from a clear understanding of this.

I thought it was a picture from a porn site because that's what it looked like, but didn't care enough to report it.. Parading around a picture of an ass in a lace thong is looked-down upon I would guess for provoking sexual banter, which it did. Understandable.

You could always use a cartoon booty and equally send the same message across of "kiss my ass" if that's truly what you're looking for. :sheep2:

I didn't care for it either. I don't think we need to encourage people who troll these sites looking for someone to be a victim. It actually made me fearful for you.

As their are only 2 admins at this site and neither of us PMd you stating we were not offended, i am interested to know exactly which admin said your avatar was not offensive?

This is a suicide forum. I think if people don't have more serious problems than an ass in a leopard print thong then they are on the wrong forum.

I know my issues far transcend your ass in a thong.

Yes I thought it was pornographic, as I didnt realise it was a picture of you in the slightest. Me personally, on a forum liek this, I wouldnt understand why anyone would want to put such a provocative and personal picture like that, you dont know what kind of people come through here, and i'm referring to the trolls and sex offenders we get joining the site.

No I havent seen this avatar, and if I had I would have reported it too. I wasnt doing it in a malicious way, I was doing it to keep teh site safe.

Im just wondering the sort of things you wouldve said if someone would have sent you a PM saying they had a problem with it?

Being an adult on here? You do forget that a lot of people on here are under the age of 18 dont you? Would you like it if i took a picture of me in my boxers and used it as my avatar? Think about it.

Theres a reason sexually explicit images are banned from here, and thats due to the fact their are so many under 18 year olds, regardless if its a thong or not, its still sexually explicit.

Plus some people dont like confrontation, especially on a site such as this.

This thread was designed to be a Let All Out as I was upset for certain reasons. Like a mature adult I am able to assimilate new information and be shown where I am wrong. I believe I have clarified my position regarding my wrong assumptions and my violation of SF rules. I think we all know that I did not intentionally want to break a rule and like I said find me in a crowd based upon that picture but rules are rules.

It is still unclear to me music and gentlelady what constitutes a triggering avatar. Does a female depicted from behind in a mini skirt triggering more than naked fairies and topless women avatars?

It seems not long ago many members were crying out about lack of uniformity in censorship around here and the lack of clarity regarding what is appropriate and what is not... I am just trying to understand the guidelines as they seem unclear. Sam would like to know too as I see from above.

You see avatars are a way to express ourselves and my avatar expressed my playful side if you understood it and understood me. I find many things on here offensive but I tolerate it ..what is staff supposed to do ban everything a person dislikes.

I have asked before regarding some basic guidelines as to what is appropriate and what is not and ironically no answer was given in LTM so here I sit faced with the same situation and the same question. I just want to make sure my planned avatar of a female in a minis skirt is okay? If not what type of triggering incident is feared? And how does this triggering compare to the avatars I have proffered already.

As far as the member of administration who contacted me I have to say I strongly object to and am deeply offended by any notion that I would lie about such a thing. I don't lie!

I consider private messages just that... and I have a reasonable expectation of privacy when I engage in private messaging as does the member of admin who contacted me so I will not reveal the name in public without prior permission in same way I have not disclosed the name of the member who reported the avatar as pornographic. Besides this is not a who said what but rather about trying to understand if my next avatar is appropriate or not ..hell I am trying to play by the rules just need a straight answer.

    Avatars & Profile Pictures
    • When choosing an Avatar or Profile picture for the forum, do not choose one that is triggering to others, avatars depicting self harm, abuse or suicide will be removed.

    • Do not use a photo of yourself as your Avatar or profile picture. This is for your own safety and security.

Every country has a ton of laws, people still find ways either round them or to evade them. If folks have to get a degree to join up, (who reads terms and conditions online anyway?) they really aren't going to stay to pour their heart out.

I do know though, that religious avatars and sexy avatars have been removed plenty of times before. I have no idea what your avatar looked like, and I have no issues with great butts in thongs but if someone complains there are plenty of avatars out there to choose from :)

Hi Bambi. I can understand your frustration. I used to use a picture of Jesus (or at least what many artists believe he looked like) and I was told to remove that as some people found it offensive. I stll don't understand how someone can be offended by a picture of Jesus?
