  1. Catch 22

So many different ways to go wrong
    Life is a trap
    Like a spider’s web
    that won’t let go
    Tangled in details
    of insignificance,
    one thread at a time
    till they all enclose you
    and hold you paralyzed
    There’s no room to move
    And it’s hard to breathe
And all you want to do is leave
    But suffering this damned eternity
you die the slowest death there is
Whispers of hope taunting the breeze
that once existed, blowing through your soul
    Tortured by the memory
    Begging for some blessed mercy
    but there is no escape,
    because you cared,
    donated yourself,
yet no reward in how you’ve fared,
within the grip of having all battles lost,
and who could ever count the cost
Now you’re simply waiting for the end,
inspite of those conundrums rallied against
Merely a shadow of your former self
Oh, the terror and the ache ~
    And nothing left to do
