Christmas time is lots of fuss.
Lots to do in the Christmas rush
But do you ever stop for a little time.
To think of those who lost their lives.

Those ones who fought with all their might
Those ones who sadly lost the fight
Those ones we hold so dear and true
Who we miss all year through

    Every light on a tree,
Reminds us of a person who was close to thee
A person who we hold so dear in our heart
The death of this person drove our world apart

We celebrate Christmas with heavy minds
And think every minute of happier times.
But we celebrate it all the same.
But Christmas is never the same again.

After the death of those we love
Who sit and watch us from above
As we raise our glasses on high
We it to the happier times.

When the people we speak about
Were here to scream and shot
And play the silly games we play
Oh how we thing of that day

These days are full of fear
As we can't spend Christmas with the ones so dear
We light a candle as we sit down
    To eat the turkey crown.
Afterwards to the crem we go.
To lay a rose for each lost soul.

Then back to grandma and grandads house
Where the boys all mess about
Then we may sing a Christmas song
Lights out as the day is gone.
We all sit back and sigh.
    Goodbye Christmas goodbye.

awww that is really heartly darlin

my mam always makes me go to church around christmas and there is a part of one of the masses where the christmas tree lights are all put on. and people pay money to the chuch charity for a past love one to have their name read out. and each light on the tree is one persons name. it is such a sweet thing and some thing my mam has done for several years.

this poem made me think about that.

Thank you hun. That made missing my grandpere, this first Christmas without him, seem a little less painful for me somehow. Beautifully done.
