Does anyone know from the Uk if you send the samaritans an e-mail is it as confidential as they say it is. If you hinted that you were going to harm yourself in someway would they accept that or try to trace you

The Samaritans are totally confidential. They will never try to trace you. If you ask them for help eg an ambulance then they will get it for you and only if you are unable to give your address (perhaps passed out) after asking them to help you would they attempt to find you.

i have emailed them before i don't think they can do that

It is totally confidential - volunteer's can't see your e-mail address at all.
They'll accept you're feeling like you want to self-harm, and leave things up to you. They'll only get you medical help, as Hazel said, if you ask for it, or if you're unconcious (etc) and you've given your address to them :)

    Hope this helps hun.

Thank you Hazel Aamanee and Abacus21 I just wanted to check before I maybe used them as I wasn't sure what they would do if you said anything like that. I'm glad they won't trace you makes it easier to trust them
