Cooking with oil or butter, which is healthy?

#21
You can have a problem with a food itself, but also its digestibility. This may explain why, for example, you seem to have a problem with whole grains, but not pasta.

Chewing your food very carefully and have soups or purees more often might be helpful.

I think whole foods are best, so less processed foods
I am no good with the choices and healthier, I mainly use butter and lard.

It is funny but this scene from My Cousin Vinny I could identify with.

That is the exact brand of lard that I have and use. Not only for frying things in but also for making hand squished biscuits and other doughs, cat head biscuits so named for the size and shape, nothing to do with purring felines. :)

Honestly I have been experimenting food that doesn't make me sick and however little I have found, it will accumulate. Its just to slow down gastritis, I honestly find very suitable incorporating dairy ingredients than with oil. I do not do best with oily foods.

I don't understand why would some of my family argue butter is bad? Look I am happy to have found 3 favourite foods I like even if i have lost the cravings for wanting salt & sweet. 😺

I am incorporating dairy and experimenting chicken, will explore fish next and always drink milk or milo after.

I've heard that butter is not so good for health but I've also heard the opposite. I think butter makes many things taste much better and that could be considered good for at least mental health. In my case I might use too much. too much might be a problem. but maybe in moderation butter is ok.

I think olive oil is a close second to butter but maybe it is a little more specialized. I'm pretty sure it is healthier than butter. funny, I use it less than butter.

avocado oil is good. corn oil too. I think canola oil ruins the delicious part of foods. but health wise, I think these are fairly ok.

but mostly, I just love butter. (and bacon fat too)

I think both can be fine in moderation. I prefer to use butter, because it's more creamy, and oil is more greasy.
Most all foods are a mix of bad and good and yes moderation and hitting the balance of the mix of what you eat. That is one of the things with diabetes in that you can have anything to eat or drink but you do need to keep track and trade off on other items. Want a beer, fine but skip dessert.
