  1. Crossroads

    Solitary
    I open
    I close
    I show
    I hide what I know
    My blossom nowadays poisonous,
    I’ve spread my petals
    My inner voice, once melodious,
    is now no longer gentle
    I have lost that art
    for I am in pain
    And I want to scream instead
    My soul’s full of dread
    and terror for what is to come;
    Fearing that my life is done
    with challenges unending
    Once upon my strength depending
    but it is finished, gone;
    Used up
    Wasted
    No matter all the hope I tasted
    No longer even bittersweet,
    it’s only disappointment that I meet

    I have no energy to weep
    for midnight hours that
    should be spent fast asleep
    Haunted, I am prey
    to the same ghosts that taunt me
    through my days
    I have crossed over in my ways
    and am lost...
