This poem/song was made as a special request by a friend that wanted a tribute poem to her dad, since he had died.

    Daddy's Little Girl

Daddy's little girl, bouncing on his knee.
Hugging daddy close and giggling with her glee.
Kissing daddy's cheek and going off to play.
Daddy watches her, a smile on his face..

Safe in her daddy's arms, even so far apart.
Light in the dark, love in his heart.
Sharing his daughter's world, taking her fears away.
Life in his daughter's heart, there he will stay.

Going off to school, scared she'll lose her way.
Holding out his hand, he wipes her tears away.
Letting her go, he smiles, "it's gonna be okay".
Turning to go inside, a smile on her face.

Safe in her daddy's arms, even so far apart.
Light in the dark, love in his heart.
Sharing his daughter's world, taking her fears away.
Life in his daughter's heart, there he will stay.

Watching his daughter grow, pride on his face.
Seeing her fall in love, he gives her space.
Hearing her laughter now, as she drives away.
A tear in his eye as he whispers her name.

Safe in her daddy's arms, even so far apart.
Light in the dark, love in his heart.
Sharing his daughter's world, taking her fears away.
Life in his daughter's heart, there he will stay.

Hearing the doctor say, he's gone away.
Falling on her knees, a tear on her face.
Praying on bended knee, "God, let me take his place."
Talking with daddy now, flowers to mark his grave.

Safe in her daddy's arms, even so far apart.
Light in the dark, love in his heart.
Sharing his daughter's world, taking her fears away.
Life in his daughter's heart, there he will stay.

Sharing his daughter's world, taking her fears away.
Life in his daughter's heart, there he will stay.
    There he will stay
    Yes, there's where he'll stay.
