My computer has a built in DVD player. It used to work perfectly. Now half the time it either won't start playing at all or it will start and then just freeze. Earlier today I couldn't even eject the DVD. Starting to get really pissed off cause I'm a big movie buff. I watch at least one a day. And now can't watch any. I'm a computer dummy so haven't the faintest idea what to do to fix it... if it can be fixed... And if it can't be fixed I cannot afford a new one.

I hate it when things break down and I am powerless to fix them!

If the disc is stucked inside dvd rom, you should see on the dvd rom little hole. put there a toothpick (depending on the size of the hole) and disc will pop out. You should buy those laser cleaning discs, they can help you. If that doesnt fix it. you should get a new dvd rom.

I have cleaned it with one of those cleaning discs but did no good. The DVD player/program just won't play the DVD or freezes up right away. Shit!
