    Dissociation

    I stared into space
    Through the glass on my right
    But I still felt your weight
    So my mind took flight.

    I gazed out the window
    Of the dark basement room
    Wishing and dreaming, but knowing
    Your treatment would soon resume.

    I focused on the trees
    On the nights you locked me out
    A break from the madness
    And from you knocking things about.

    Now, I relive that time
    Every now and then--
    I vanish into this mysterious place
    And feel like I’m back there again.

    Thank you all for commenting..

    Good to hear from you IV - have missed you.

    I'm sorry Jim... I do understand and perhaps I should have put a trigger warning on this....

    Last Night

    Last night
    I saw your name;
    My stomach knotted,
    My chest tightened
    And I panicked.

    Last night
    I recollected events;
    The look in your eyes -
    One of distain, hate
    And a twisted enjoyment.

    Last night
    I heard the noises;
    Your arms on the doors,
    Objects against the walls
    And your hands upon me.

    Last night
    I had to go - I tried to stay
    And be grounded, but I couldn’t.
    Why do I let you still
    Rule my life?
