    Don’t forget
    Don’t forget
It almost sounded like a threat
    The things you did
    The things you said
    Run around inside my head
I wish that I could scream out loud
I wish I could and still look proud

    I hang my head
    I look at my feet
    Anything to avoid defeat
    You take my chin
    And raise it up
    I close my eyes
But my conscience, it just cries.

    I turn my head
    Remembering the things you said
    ‘‘Don’t forget, don’t forget’’
It almost sounded like a threat
    Go away
    You should just leave
Leave me with my time to breathe

You stand there rooted to the floor
The time you take is enough to bore
I walk away and reach the door
    You look around
    At what you’ve found
    An empty room without me

    Your eyes grow wide
    You want to hide
You know what you have done

    You drove me away
I shouldn’t have been there anyway
    It was just a mistake
    I turn the handle
    You look around
Your conscience it seems you have found

    Your gaze then drops
    You turn away
    You shouldn’t be here anyway
    You sit back down
    And turn back round
Just to see a closed door.

    I’ll be back
    I’ll return
Just don’t think I’ll still be your world
    You had your chance
    You’ve lost it now
    So goodbye you
    I don’t need you now.

Lucy, another work of word art! I envy you your lack of writer's block:wink: as I have no creativity at present, however, you make up for my lack!
