I want to dye my hair blond so that it turns out sorta auburn/light brown maybe.

Since it's dark brown, blond dye should make it that color right?
I've dyed it in the past but it took me to like a medium brown color.

I sorta want to go for this color.

    Ya, think it'll work?

No, it wouldn't work. You'd have to make your hair lighter (like through bleaching). Alternatively, you could dye your hair red, but not lighter.

thats really pretty! it seems like its about 2 levels or so lighter, not that much, so u could probably accomplish it with just box color at the drugstore. may take a couple times, and it will be VERY brassy/red/orange. even though that color is kinda warm, there is some coolness/ash in it. you would need a toner. the best way to lighten is with bleach/tonerordye. just my experience. hth!

If you have red tones in your hair, be sure to get a color that has ash (if you're planning on getting the color at a drugstore), but honestly, I'd recommend going to a salon to have it done. It'd be safer.
