    “Evil Eyes”

    Evil Eyes peer at me
    From within, from without
I’m not sure which I fear more

    The deadened, yellow claws
Of the demons of inescapable terror
Grasp me lightly on the shoulder
The pain of the claws is subtle
But the reminder that the horror is a constant companion
    Is more excruciating
Than anything I have ever known

    Fear terrorizes me
    With those Evil Eyes
They stare at me bold and unblinking
And I hear the whispering voice
    “I will never go away”
