    Poker straight
    So very close
    Infinite space dividing us
    Sitting in my room
Your mouth moves and you tell me something else that isn't true
    A whitewash of the truth
You have forgotten how we passed the point of needing words
    Years ago
I know you as I know the back of my hand
I know what you think and what you do
There was a time where you seemed like an extension of my self

    Something happened
    You cast off
    We drifted apart until now
I can see you mouth moving but the truth is so far away
And if it's all in my head it doesn't even matter
Because now it's been in my head
There will be no return from this

    I never lied
Never said words in love that I didn't mean
But nothing quenches the fire quite like being taken for granted.

Awesome! Great juxtaposition of images and ideas. Wonderful phrasing and rhythm. I'm sorry it speaks of such deep hurt. This is a very powerful and evocative poem. Hope to see more from you.
