I'm thinking the opening montage/sequence to Fellini's 8 1/2 is quite stellar, & stunning (to me) but may also be triggering to some (or could be...) even though I don't (happen to) believe that--that was the intent (of the director). :) // p.s. it's also, probably still in my top-3 films of all time (I don't know, I haven't thought about them for a good long / little while... but, I'd venture it's still a pretty 'safe,' bet!)- :D

'Persona,' by Ingmar Bergman, is another great one, too! ...(trouble, is: there's one potentially disturbing/controversial image; or "bit~.") ;^)_ Brilliant film-making, though - quite literally, for me the pinnacle, or greatest of heights, a person who makes movies can reach. :^) Every-thing about that picture is 'breath-taking!' . . . I was going to compile a list--but suddenly realized it was utter rubbish--given that/or if, one (you) hasn't/haven't seen the film! Gah..;) Just trust me~ & like all things on here - (take my word, for it!)..:D j/k-

Based on a "True Story," . . . (just kidding!) :D

...I should really go back & think about Brian De Palma films. He's got / or bound to have a bunch of really good, long 'extended,' (opening sequences!) : As he was such a fan of Hitchcock. It's been awhile since I've seen any of them - but some are immediately springing to mind: Untouchables; Casulties of War... he's made a gazillion movies; & thensome! (; I really liked "Body-Double," for some reason... maybe it was always growing up & seeing the cover / movie poster in the video store (rental place) or the song (no, I don't think it was that..) I did love the 'Lead Guy,' though --no clue, on his name. . . but he was great! ~*RELAX: Don't do it..;) Some of them may be in appropriate for this forum - or any public one, perhaps, tastes of course, taken into consideration. :D I think he may have done the first Mission Impossible, too // or as well, because I thought I'd heard him tell the tale once, of when Tom Cruise came & asked him to direct the second (film); he goes "We already did that! Isn't one Enough?" ;) Apparently - not. . ;) As he was JUST --getting warmed up!!! Oh, Dressed to kill might be my favorite one of his. . . (I just can't remember for sure, so - let's go with that one!) :D Last one I saw was about 5 years, or so ago... with the girl from Notebook & Mean Girls in it. And I'll be danged if I can remember the title, but it was okay..;) (for an 'Old Guy!') :) ~to be making /// he did Carrie, too? Didn't he! (never saw that one - I'm sure it was outstanding!) :^) . . . Now? What were we talking about again! Something to do with music! j/k ;) Or, I think we were also waiting on @Witty⭐️Sarcasm ⭐️ to put her money where her mouth is. I'm expecting something from the Care Bears lineage, or the like~. ;D

And speaking of Quincy Jones...

Geez, ClassicsFan! :D How do you even know about all of this stuff? Or these things..;) I'm impressed - & I don't believe I have ever seen the "Player," with Tim Robbins (who I love) & maybe directed by Robert Altman (but I'm not sure?). :) I do remember when it came out though -- there was a movie with him (or he) & Martin Lawrence, maybe ... more like (made in) the mid-to-late '90s; that was called ~~ well, I can't really remember off hand, but it was hilarious! And I didn't even think it would, or was going to be. I was over at my friends house, and I want to say he actually had (owned) a copy of it on, what must've been VHS (tape) at the time. . . "meaning," ~VCR's if you've ever heard of them? (or seen pictures!) Ha :D -I just remember some of the scenes, and the dancing, and again: being "unexpectedly," or pleasantly (not unpleasantly--right?) 'Surprised!' What was that movie called? ;)
