  1. Rewinds in mind keep me awake

    Some days renew their boundlessness

    Confidence to reel amends

    Beyond the fence

    I find myself

    With yearbook friends

Paint the scape with mental scrapes

To push me through my darkest days

    Examining what was a blaze

The draw a heart the spade an ace

Remind myself to play on cue

    Flashbacks bare a weightlessness

    Nonetheless they hold me in

    What was amiss

    In times set after

    Travel’s end

Hope remains to paint the plains

    Vibrant colors once again
    SinisterKid and Brittless like this.

HopefulJacob, I really like this poem. :) Lovely words and rhythms, rhymes and images! You use the idea of "painting" a couple of times - I imagined both a blank canvas and a lot of color. A good poem - thanks for sharing! :)
