    What about empathy?

A fabled stare of steel and iron
    Was trampled down
    Eclipsed by lying
The colour never faded from your heart
Though mirror’s sting tore you apart
You are my blessing, wonder not dark
    Magnificent, glorious
    The power of art

How can the voice I knew so well
    Be hated, tortured
    Anything to sell
What will they mark upon your grave?
    The pictures, the lies
    Not the lives you saved
Why can’t they see it’s they who forged the mask
Embattled, drowning, hidden in the dark
But bigotry’s clasp won’t be the last call
For this and countless thousand hearts
Still proudly and boldly bear your mark

You said there should be time for the young
Let all people’s lives and dreams merge into one
That power comes not from the old war drum
That hatred was the battle needing to be won
Hope you knew how far you came, each time you sung
Of love and purity, no more are we numb

For there never was a more gentle soul
Than the man who asked ‘what about empathy’?
Sought to fill that great big hole
    That rages inside society’s toll
In that he more than met the role
    A bastion of love
    In an empty poll

And Michael, are you out there somewhere?
    Looking like a happy man?
    In the trees with Elvis?
    And King of the Mountain.
Now and forever, you are love’s unceasing fountain.

this is beautiful... im glad you put this up, i miss the great man too..
im surprised as to how much hate there is out there though, just today i was reading a piece on yahoo music about how his kids are coping and it was awful, the comments below, most of them mocking the little ones saying that they were milking their fathers demise for medai attention n cared just for the money he left behind.. its pathetic how something as simple as three children missing their father on his death anniversary can be blown out of proportion..
thank you for putting this up. im glad there are sensible people out there who still care!

Thank you. There is no day that passes that I do not miss Michael. He was the most beautiful and inspirational human being.

And sadly, yes, I can all too easily believe the hatred. People are feral.

I am so suprised you love michael jackson because i do too. Im suprised at the fact that anyone is happy to believe the media and not do their homework and find out exactly what the truth is. Unfortunatley people are so blind. Name me one artist in the world of music who sung about the poor, peace and truth other than Michale Jackson? I just dont see why people cant acknowledge the truth and still rather stick with the crowd like sheeps. RIP Michael Jackson King of pop, you will be never forgoten and you always be remebered with a smile, your good work like your music, art work, 350 million dollars to charity and all the children who visited neverland and your constant battle for equality will be saluted. Its so easy to make judgments so think and research before you do. You and your awesome personality will rule over every mans heart who has goodness and not evil as to what the media portrayed like 'why you wanna trip on me'. And the poem in deidication has told many truths in itself and thank you for this post, you made my day! Think and use your subconciuos mind as Michael said. xx Keep the peace and love going to make the world a better place, and if thats too much, take a look at yourself and make a change! <3 :)
