In a dream the other night
I saw a dog robbed, a baby lost
a fox turning tables on bloodsport

and I wonder what the message was
if it was one of loss, of things that
can never be, how we will never be three

Or if it told of how we struggled
    for harmony in foreign climes,
how out hearts, in the rain, stepped out of time

But then last night, with us apart
in my mind we laid cupped together
stroking cats, content, no matter the weather

And I hope I think I know what that means.

I too hope it means what you think it means - something positive, something good and long-awaited.

Thanks for sharing another of your lovely works.

    Hey Least,

Sweet of you to respond. This poem was just a very simple take on a very complex situation. One of those that just falls out of you in 30 seconds. And it shows, I know.

I just got back from a week's break in Fuerteventura (one of the Canarian group of islands, off the west coast of Africa for those that don't know). Hence the title. The allure of the place is the 'winter sun' that is all but guaranteed. Needless to say, it veritably p*ssed down.

I have a deep rain tan.

    Hope everyone's getting by. xx
