I weigh in at 105 but i feel 500 pounds. when I look in the mirror the number maybe get lower but I looked fat and wide. The fat feeling I have is so much I just never want to eat again. It hurts..I've been dealing with this for years and now that;s it's recently come to light no body takes me seriously. The say "well you eat you can't be anorexic" or "black girls don't get anorexic"

and my family is just at the just eat appraoch.

that is by far one of the dumbest things I ever heard, sorry!
Don't believe that!

Please get help from people who do listen before this is getting out of hand and you start to believe that nonsense and it's too late.

I know I am not a big help, I dont have an eating disorder, so i dont know much

but please get some help, one of my friends had ana, and her family also ignored it. for her it turned out ok, as far as I know..

please go to a professional before you start destroying yourself

I wish you all the best

I know it isn't easy. Most people who don't have an ed don't understand where you're coming from. I've been struggling with mine for 7 years now. It's awful... I'm surprised I'm still alive. Like Beautiful Disaster said, it would be wise to get professional help. Have you tried sitting your family down and having a conversation with them and being as honest as you can about it all, to help them understand the seriousness of this and that the "just eat" approach wont fix anything because it's not that simple? I really hope things turn around for you. I'm just a pm away if you want to talk more about this. I wish you luck.

I know how you're feeling.

Just wanted to tell you you're not alone.

People who make stereotypical judgements about who can and can't develop anorexia are people who don't full understand that it's a mental health problem and can target absolutely anybody.

I'm sorry your parents aren't being helpful about it.

I know you said above in a reply that you see a doc for other things, but how about going to your GP and ask to be referred to a specialist? It could be a step in the right direction.

Take care, hope things get easier.
