I have to share this today...

One of the groups I belong to has a large number of members from diverse social, cultural, and economic backgrounds. The group just raised its price on a dinner event that made it a stretch for some of us. The increase in cost is more than I expected or budgeted for. I heard from someone else that it's simply too much for her, and she wasn't going.

A friend offered to pay my way. I said thank but, no. If I fiddled with my budget and spent less on this and that, I'd scrape enough together.

"No, no, I want to help."
"No. I can manage it."
"Well, how about if I pay the increase?"
"No...I can manage it."
"Really...I want you there. I'd like to help."
"Ummm...You know, I can manage it. But so-and-so can't. You could help by treating her."

How sweet and kind is that?! Good people do exist! And I'm so fortunate and blessed to know them!

It's true, good people DO exist. Look around, they really are everywhere. They're right here on this boards beside us. They're our neighbors and co-workers. They're our friends and family.
Some really awful people exist too LOL but we gotta try to block them out as much as we can.
I'm glad you are all getting to go to the dinner. That's great.
