twowolves80 Darkness Incarnate; don't even bother

    With a shuddering sigh
    the end came fast,
    the light was extinguished
    by shadows of the past.

    Wanting only to hold
    you close to me,
    a friend of my heart
    whose heart I see.

    You fell from my grasp,
    and slipped from my hand,
    the light has fled
    from this darkened land.

    The door has closed
    though I tried to fight,
    with self afflicted wounds
    and fists in the night.

    The Pattern is locked,
    my precious friend,
    you will move on
    while I face the end.

    No pain did I seek
    to vex your sweet heart,
    but in this damned play
    we each have our part.

    Just know that when
    I take my last breath,
    your smile I'll recall
    as I slip into death.

I'm sorry you're dealing with all this turmoil lately. I love your poems, even if they are dark. I am glad you have a great friend in your life like that.
