Hi everyone,

I would like to wish you all an Easter full of peace and happiness and hope. Whether you believe in God or not, He does love you and He knows what you are going through.

Even if many people have arrogantly and hypocritically turned their backs on you, He is there and He loves you. If you want to turn to Christ, rest assured that He is waiting for you with open arms. He does not turn anyone away and He will be with you for all of your life and eternity.

He has helped pull me from the brink of depression and desperation and suicide twice in my life. The first time before I even knew Him, the second time long after I accepted Him as my Lord and Saviour but my heart was so wounded and hurting that I sank into despair and for a while felt like there was no way out. He has been my friend when no one was, He was there for me when people I considered closest to me left me. He held me back when my guilt and sorrow and loneliness had me standing over a bridge and I was considering jumping.

If you turn to Him, He will never leave you.

I wrote this message to some people on an email list I have. Feel free to read it if you wish.

God loves you. Take care and Happy Easter!

John 3:16
16For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,
that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have
everlasting life.

Hi everyone,

I would like to wish all of you a happy and meaningful Easter. We
come together to commemorate and celebrate the greatest act of love
that any of us have ever experienced- God’s love.

There were many people in history who have shown great acts of
kindness and mercy and love, but the greatest and most important
love was handed down from God in the form of His Son and our Lord
and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He came down to earth to show the way to
eternal life to those who would be willing to listen, and to die for
everyone so that we all have a chance to experience His mercy and
joy in eternity by putting our faith in Him.

Jesus- man and God- lived and died for us. He is the King of
kings, yet He was born in a stable. He created the world, yet lived
without a home. He will be the Judge of all creation, yet He Himself
was arrested and beaten and finally crucified by hypocrites claiming
to be righteous men. They buried Him in a cave, covered the way out
with a large stone, and posted guards to deny Him a proper burial.
Yet He rose from the dead on the third day. He did it all for us.

We are called by Him to spread the Gospel, to be loving towards
all people (friends and enemies), to help the poor and oppressed, to
work for peace, to hunger and thirst and if necessary suffer for
justice, to keep His commandments, to be witnesses of Him to the
end. If we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour and put our faith in
Him, we can follow Him faithfully and He can do great things through
us. Yet nothing we do can come close to His great sacrifice for us
all. We should never forget that nothing we have ever done or ever
can do can surpass His eternal love.

We do not deserve Christ’s mercy or His love, yet He offered it
to us on the cross. We do not deserve eternal life with Him in
Heaven but He offers it to us, He only asks us for our faith and our
love. He has done infinitely more for us.

He has risen, and He can make us rise too.

Happy Easter.

How deep the Father's love for us
Stuart Townend

HOW DEEP THE FATHER’S LOVE FOR US,
How vast beyond all measure,
That He should give His only Son
To make a wretch His treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss –
The Father turns His face away,
As wounds which mar the Chosen One
Bring many sons to glory.

Behold the man upon a cross,
My sin upon His shoulders;
Ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
Call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held Him there
Until it was accomplished;
His dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
No gifts, no power, no wisdom;
But I will boast in Jesus Christ,
His death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from His reward?
I cannot give an answer;
But this I know with all my heart –
His wounds have paid my ransom.

Stuart Townend.
