As an HSP (Highly Sensitive Person, dumb name, a better label is Sensory Processing Sensitivity) sleep is very important for my mental health. But I've found that sleeping for one long continuous stretch of time isn't what I need. If I sleep for four hours and then become fully awake, it's ok to get up, have a little snack, click on random things for an hour or two, and then get another few hours. For me it's the total amount of sleep in a 24 hour period, rather than the amount of time spent sleeping in the officially designated 'sleep time'.
