Have You Seen Me? Have you seen me today? I don’t know where I’ve gone. Perhaps I’ve wandered off somewhere, Or maybe someone took me. But who would want Such a battered old thing as me? Have you seen me today? I’ve looked everywhere. I wasn’t in any of the usual places. I wasn’t with friends or family, I wasn’t at work or school either. I even looked the mirror But all that was there Was an empty space. Where I once was. Have you seen me today? I can’t remember exactly when I misplaced me. Perhaps it was at the river, Or maybe I lent myself To someone who lost me. Or did it happen bit by bit, Like a puzzle? A piece here or there, But never the whole picture at once? Have you seen me today? I know I’m hard to find. Small things are so easy To mislay, aren’t they? But if I turn up, won’t you call? Small things often go unmissed Until they are missing.
