    Anxiety's back. Oh joy.

Well, I got hired as an artist for a role playing site (no pay, but it's work and I could use the experience). I'm also a mod for it, and a mod for another site.

I don't do much yet, as they're both brand new. The RP site only has two users, the other one seven and everyone knows each other.

But still...I feel like I'm going to utterly fail my responsibilities. I always do..... I don't know what to do about it.

You're lucky! I wish I was getting a job with that kind of experience.
I've only had like two jobs, one of them I dont count.
I wish I could get that kind of experience.

But I know how it feels to think you wont live up to certain expectations, even your own.
The best thing to do is take your time, take a breath, one step at a time.
    Do what you can.

If things get a little too heavy for you, try talking to the RP site owners, just explain you might take a little longer.

Do you post any examples of your work online? Like on deviantart.com?
    I'd love to see it.

Best thing to do, dont over think it.

They hired you, so they believe in you, no all you have to do is believe in yourself.
Have you done any jobs like this in the past? Or any stuff like this just for fun?

Remember, every time you succeed, especially with something you werent sure you could do, it only proves how much more you have to offer (companies and yourself).

    Thanks guys.

No, I've never been hired for anything before. So it's my first time as a site artist and mod. But I gotta start somewhere, I guess. :s

"They hired you, so they believe in you, no all you have to do is believe in yourself."

Good point! I guess I just need to stop putting myself down...

Well these are the ones they probably saw when they hired me:

Not bad! :) You have some awesome stuff, very dark, but it catches the eye and keeps you curious, thats what good art does.

Whats the site for this rp? I wanna know more about it.

Oh and if you ever decide you wanna be a concept or game artists, check out Blizzard Entertainment, they make games like World of Warcraft and Starcraft.
They have a link to job opportunities on their site.
A friend of mine works there and she says she is paid well.

I draw and do art too. Though I dont wanna compare our art since everyone is different.

I don't always do dark art, I have more light-hearted ones too. Like this one: http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr42/JerseyFreak/Trix.jpg

    The Lost Deviants, here: http://www.wix.com/Drabardi/The-Lost-Deviants

There's only me and the site owner right now. I need to look for people to invite...

As if I could be hired by Blizzard. XD I don't mean to sound self-deprecating, but there still isn't much I can do yet.

Can you show me your pics? I'd like to see.

I'm having another problem, and I don't want to spam up the board with my complaints so...

I seem to suffering from hypersomnia. I sleep so much and never get any less tired. There's so much I need to do, and either I'm asleep or too tired to do anything.

Okay, well lets start backwards, with hypersomnia I'd consult a sleep specialist, for me, I am always tired, always, no matter what, I could sleep for two minutes or twelve hours and still be tired.

As for Blizzard, best thing to do, start small, take jobs like this and look for paying jobs, gain experience, because there are two advantages to experience.
One, it pads a resume well.
Two, your name can get passed around the web and through industries.

So dont stop practicing, because as an artist, you never stop improving.

As for showing my stuff, why not.I have a deviantart page, hopefully the link shows up.

Deviantart was doing maintenance, so let me know if the links dont work.

http://hatescomputers.deviantart.com/#/d1pmw1m (this one I did for a business to use on their website, they didnt end up using it but not because they didnt like it but because they hate their current website).

Note, I need to edit some of my page, because some stuff was from when I was in highschool, big into copying (not tracing), I would just look at my favorite manga and then copy what I saw, so I need to delete stuff I feel isnt original.

I don't have the money for that, unfortunately. Maybe someday my mom will let me get a job...

Well, I do online commission. It's not for real money, but get some kind of virtual currency and most importantly, I get to draw more for other people.
I don't feel comfortable taking real money yet, I'd rather improve a little more before then. But when I do get better, perhaps I'll look for a paying job as an artist.

You're very talented! I'd like to learn how to draw eyes like you do. Your alien is my favorite one, I love his teeth. I can't understand what the little guy is saying though. XD

That's a good site banner too! The deer looks very cool, and it's eye-catching.

I did the same thing, copying I mean. I used to copy images from my moms' game guides, from pokemon how-to-draw books, and various other things. I still have to look at something to draw, like animals...

I'd like to thank you for talking to me. I'm feeling better about my work, and a little more inspired to try.

Strange thing, everyone compliments me on how I draw eyes, I guess they're the one thing I love drawing the most, the window to the human soul.

As for talented, I doubt that. I like to think talent and skill are all hog-wash, that we all have varying levels of capacity for art, for some its simple art appreciation, from liking an advert, to liking comic book drawings, then there are others like you and me, who have the capacity to create.

I am glad to have met and talked to you but just because I talked you through a rough patch doesnt mean you and I should stop talking.

I think you should join Deviantart.com, post your stuff there, you could make friends, meet like minded people and maybe learn cool new design tricks, I know I have.
Its fun and the site is free to join, so you should really consider it.
If you do join, let me know so I can friend/deviant watch you.

I don't really have much expertise in this area, but I found this online a few weeks ago and thought it might help you with your practising and also be pretty fun to do.

I find eyes very difficult to draw. So much detail to put in such a small amount of space. That's why I'm impressed when people drawn them well.

I think I understand what you mean, but I'm not sure I agree. If skills don't exist, then what does it mean to improve? I hope I'm making sense, my brain's kind of fuzzy right now. I just took some sleeping pills.

Of course not. You sound like a cool person and I'd like to get to know you more. :)

I've been on DA before (my account's dead though)...is there a virus still going around? I'm very tempted to re-join. I've been looking for an art community, but no luck.

Avarice: I think I'll start that challenge tomorrow. I've never done a challenge before. Thanks for the link!

To the best of my knowledge there is no virus in DA at all.

It would be cool if you joined.

For me, eyes have always been easy, dont know why.

Capacity replaces the idea of skill.
It means, there are those who can only do so much, that is where there capacity stops, like for me, I dont do much painting so my capacity for certain points of art ends with that.
