    once more I snatch defeat
    from the jaws of victory

    though this self-destruction
    is somehow delighting me

    numerous days of sobriety
    eradicated so proficiently

    I smirk at my inadequacies
and then quaff the fucking lot

    how darkness now dawns
    where light once did yawn

    my hangover mutes the rays
    rotting putrid breath decays
    all those desolate sober days

    in my bed catatonic
    pissed words laconic

    just staring at my ceiling
    salubrious is this feeling

I only feel healthy when I am a wreck

Id seen other posters praise your writing but lament that you had gone, I'm glad you're back so that I can read these great works of yours

  5. laconic : using or involving the use of a minimum of words : concise to the point of seeming rude or mysterious

I LOVE having to look up "worthy" words!
However, none of yours have ever fallen into the category of the latter definition above - no matter how much you belittle them...

    Thank you all

But really I just wanted to write a poem with the word quaff in it!

    QUAFF!

    Great word.

    A x
